Join Shannon for a virtual 1.5 hour long talk and demonstration on how to start your own cutting garden. In this workshop we will start from the beginning on what seeds to grow, when to start them, how to grow them, when to harvest them and all the important tips and tricks we use at Euclid Farms. In addition to the talk and demonstration, you’ll receive a PDF full of valuable information discussed to look back on while you tackle your own garden this year. This document is 7 years in the making full of tried and true methods we use from years of trial and error in our 11 downtown Toronto Zone 6 yards.

Topics discussed will include:

-growing small in pots and containers vs the ground

-importance of growing chemical free and HOW

-pollinators and why we need them

-a breakdown on flower farming terms, what they mean and how they work

-soil health and amendments

-seed starting calendar and how to make yours

-best flowers, foliage and herbs to grow from easiest to most difficult

-part shade and perennials

-planning the garden and mapping it all out

-common diseases and how to treat them organically

-equipment needed to start seeds indoors

-how to stake and net your plants

This workshop is geared to beginner and intermediate growers, starting their first garden or interested in growing a better crop. There will be plenty of time for Q&A’s and note taking. Nothing is required for the workshop, you won’t be actively starting your own seeds but taking notes and learning how to do so on your own. You will also receive a list of resources to further your education and recommendation on where to shop for the items discussed.

There are no refunds or exchanges on tickets purchased. If you are unable to attend the workshop, you will still receive the information PDF and a video recording of the talk.
