Founder and Creative Director, Shannon Whelan, grew up surrounded by nature in the Ottawa Valley where she spent summers exploring the outdoors. After moving to Toronto to study English and History at the University of Toronto, she started growing flowers for pleasure in her small city yard on Euclid Avenue. Over time, her little business expanded into the shop and farm it is today!
Favouring garden-inspired style and wildly unexpected colours, some of Shannon’s favourite flowers include irises, narcissus, dahlias and MOST of all, sweet peas. She’s a dog lover, bubble bath taker, coffee chugger and showtune belter. In addition to being a florist and flower farmer, Shannon is a retired professional dancer, a dance educator, adjudicator and choreographer currently on the faculty at the Ontario School of Ballet (OSB) in Toronto.
When she isn't farming, flowering or dancing, she is spending time with her close friends and loved ones, often arguing over a board game.
Hilary spent several years in retail management before pursuing her love of flowers and joining the EF team. Her favourite time of year is dahlia season! She spends as much time as she can in Prince Edward County and High Park, and is also currently cultivating her own backyard garden. Be wary of bringing up the following topics with her, as she will most likely passionately talk your ear off: dogs, ice cream and the de-stigmatization of carnations… they’re not just a grocery store flower!!
Emily's adores spring flowers, specifically peonies and tulips. She truly enjoys designing, creating and executing your daily bouquets and arrangements - particularly those with a whimsical touch! She loves going on walks with friends and listening to Harry Styles... every day. She takes every opportunity to spend time with her niece and nephew, passing along her flower knowledge to the next generation.
Hanna loves escaping into the world of flowers every time she comes to work. Whether she’s arranging the vases on the shelves in an eye catching rainbow display, organizing every shy wolf by scent (and spending a LOT of her time sniffing them), or creating beautiful bouquets for people to enjoy, she finds Euclid Farms to be a great creative outlet. When she’s not around flowers, you can find Hanna humming to herself constantly, writing music and eating pistachios.
Ian is a multidisciplinary artist who loves botanicals and design. He finds floristry to be the perfect intersection for those two passions. Outside of floristry, he is a seasoned illustrator and keeps up his practice in part with portraits of people he draws on the subway. On a warm day, he can be found walking to and from one city park to the next, enjoying a treat in hand and accompanied by friends.
Claudia has been working in the floral world since high school. Her favourite flowers are Muscari and Hellebore. The joy people receive when they interact with flowers is a constant reminder of why she chose to pursue floristry and share her love of flowers with others. You can often find her either lounging in a park with a book, or hanging out with her adorable cats.
